Things I've been buying, loving and trying! Part 3

Three is my lucky number—well, specifically 33. I also feel good about any number that ends in 3, like 13 or 23, or anything divisible by 3. I’m not sure why, but I just get positive vibes from those numbers. But anyways, the reason I started this blog post off with that is because we are now on Part 3 of “Things I've been buying, loving and trying!”. Yayyyyy!!! Applause!!!!! I wanted to get part 3 out before 2025, why? just because it was a good goal and that means I would have published 3 blog posts in the last month!

Okay, let’s get into it:

  1. One of my biggest pet peeves about myself is how I tend to say I don’t like something before I’ve even tried it—just assuming I won’t. Does that make sense? One of the things I’ve always dismissed is black licorice. For 27 years, I’ve been a full-on black licorice hater. But... no more! Thanks to CondimentClaire, one of my favourite content creators, I’ve had a change of heart. She’s mentioned Lakrids a few times, so I thought I’d grab some for Jordan as a little winter treat, since he loves black licorice.

After having a few, Jordan loved them so much that he convinced me to try one, and wow. It was delicious. To be fair, I only tried the raspberry flavour because I’m a sucker for fruit and chocolate, and it was amazing. But I also ended up loving the black licorice flavor too! I would’ve had more, but by the time I came home one night, Jordan had eaten them all. So now I’ve got to get more... clearly, I’ve been missing out!

  2. So, I mentioned in a previous post that I was getting into designer shoes, and since then, I’ve actually bought two pairs. I am so obsessed with both of them, and I know they’re going to be in my collection forever.

First, I got the Hermes Oran Sandals in brown (gold). I’ve wanted them for a while, and honestly, they’re just the perfect sandal. They’re stylish, comfy, and super popular for a reason. Then, I picked up The Row Zipper Boots, which I’ve had my eye on for over a year. My style is pretty casual, and I just knew these boots would go with everything I already own—and they totally do. They’re incredibly comfortable and so stylish, I’m so happy with this purchase. I’ve already worn them a ton, and I know I’ll keep reaching for them for years to come.

  3. The Rhode Barrier Butter is LIFE CHANGING. I’ve been using it every night, and sometimes in the mornings when my skin needs that extra hydration boost. I’m also planning to write a blog post about my skincare routine, where I’ll share the products I use every day, along with some I rotate in and out.

  4. I’m an avid tea drinker—coffee doesn’t sit well with my stomach (however I’ll occasionally grab a decaf cappuccino when the craving hits). My all-time favourite tea brand is Sloane, especially their Heavenly Cream and Classic Green Tea. Recently, I picked up Kusmi Tea after seeing it all over Paris, and I loved every flavour in their essential collection!

  5. Emi Jay Big Effing Clips are the only clips I wear! Three years ago, my best friend got me the blue and orange ones for my birthday, and I’ve worn them nonstop since. The quality is amazing, and they’re so cute. I just bought the brown one because the blue and orange don’t always match my outfits. The brown blends with my hair perfectly, so now I can wear them even more!

  6. I just got gifted a Canada Goose jacket, and I’m obsessed. I’ve always admired them but never owned one. Back in high school, everyone had that short puffer with the fur hood, and I always wanted one! Living in Toronto, I’ve typically stuck to short jackets — but my legs would freeze! After collecting a few wool coats over the years, I finally realized I needed something actually warm for those brutal winter days. Cue the Canada Goose Rhoda parka. It’s like a fluffy duvet I can wear outside. I’ve never been so warm and comfy.

I am trying to think of more things to chat about but I don’t want this blog post to be too long so I shall end here - expect Part 4 to have lots of home updates/decor because that is my focus for the first half of the year :)

Happy Holidays and see you in 2025!!!!!!!!!!!!!
